Six months in: Letting go of how it “should” be

We’ve reached the halfway point of the year, and I’ve been thinking about how much has already happened.

To be honest, I started this year without set goals and deadlines which is (very) contrary to what culture pushes. Of course, I had some plans and desires, but more than anything, this was a year I gave to God — to guide me to whatever He wills for me.

And when I reflect on it now, I see how His hand has moved throughout. Things I would never have expected have happened, both good and difficult, and through it all, I’m learning to trust His ways more now than ever before.

If that hasn’t been your experience so far, that’s okay too. Maybe the last six months felt challenging. If so, I want you to know this: the next six months offer a fresh opportunity. It’s a chance to give God space to restore what feels lost or broken, in the way only He can, and to set your feet back on the path He's set for you.

I like to say that nothing is wasted.

Even the hardest, most painful chapters become part of a longer, beautiful story. Sometimes it's hard to see how the pieces fit together, but I guarantee you, future you will look back and see the ways those moments shaped you, taught you, or prepared you for what's next.

So as we travel through these next six months, I encourage you to be open to restoration and the ongoing unraveling of your individual, beautiful story. Give yourself permission to learn from what’s come before, and to trust that even the things that feel lost now can be made new.

Whatever this next season holds for you, my hope is that you’ll come to trust that God’s hand is guiding you through it all.

WITH LOVE,
FEYISOLA
